Jonny initially qualified as a barrister and gained extensive advocacy experience in courts and tribunals in England.  He was recruited as Principal Legal Advisor to the CSCI in 2006 before joining Ridouts as a founding fee earner in 2007.  He was appointed partner in 2010.

Jonny advises on all aspects of health and social care law including enforcement by CQC, challenging inspection reports, advising on safeguarding investigations and acting for clients on fee disputes.  He has also developed a niche practice in advising providers on commissioning disputes, successfully acting in a key complaint to the Co-operation and Competition Panel which found that a PCT had breached competition rules by refusing to consider placements at a particular hospital.

Jonny retains his rights of audience in courts in England and Wales and conducts advocacy for clients including full representation at inquests.

Outside work, Jonny is a proud father, a keen globe trotter and a creative writer.
