CQC announce changes to providers notification forms

Topics covered: care home, CQC, CQC inspection, health and social care law, Hope Davis-McCallion

CQC have recently announced changes to the notification forms providers need to submit in relation to deaths, serious injuries, and allegations of abuse relating to service users. The forms now include specific prompts for the providers to address. Links to these forms can be found on CQC’s website. CQC’s aim is to reduce the amount of follow up work they normally need to do with the provider.

CQC ask that providers consider these issues identified by the prompts, when notifying them of any incidents. They have said this is part of a wider, major project intended to improve statutory notification forms and guidance in relation to deaths, serious incidents, abuse and police involvement.
