This week CQC has launched its consultation on the fees it proposes to charge registered providers in 2015/16. The consultation sets out CQC’s proposals to change the balance of funding to increase cost recovery from provider fees in 2015/16 in order to meet the government policy of recovering all chargeable costs from fees.
In particular, the consultation proposes to:
- Increase annual fees for all registered providers with the exception of the dental sector.
- Amend the fee scheme for independent healthcare providers whose fees increased due only to changes made in the 2013/14 fees scheme.
With the proposed fee increases included, CQC has calculated that health and care provider will still typically pay 1% or less of their income in fees to CQC.
The proposals are intended to be implemented from 1 April 2015.
The closing date of the consultation is Friday 9 January 2015.
