The National Institute for Health and Care Excellence will shortly begin a consultation on their on its draft guideline on safeguarding adults in care homes. The consultation will begin on Thursday 3 September 2020. The project documents are online and available to view here.
The guideline is intended to ensure that staff can raise safeguarding issues easily, promptly and confidently to help to make sure that people living in care homes are safe from abuse and neglect.
It includes:
- a set of indicators to help practitioners identify abuse and neglect
- advice for staff on the actions to take if they suspect abuse or neglect.
