MPs from the Health Select Committee have said morale among health and care workers from the EU has been hit by the uncertainty of Brexit. In response to this warning, nurses and care workers have been speaking to carehome.co.uk about their feelings of “anger and betrayal”.

Theresa May has refused to guarantee the rights of the 3.3m EU citizens living in Britain. As a result, they claim they are being used as “bargaining chips” for any potential deal made with the EU. Statistics show roughly 60,000 people from EU countries work in the NHS, with the care sector accounting for another 90,000.

MP’s from the cross-party committee have called the impact of Brexit on the morale of health and social care workers as “concerning” and said the “uncertainty they face is unwelcome”.
