Retainment of UK nurses remains a key issue in social care

New research has found that a shortage of UK nurses, lack of government funding and a winter crisis has put extraordinary levels of pressure on the NHS. Concerns are mounting for winter 2018 as once again the most critical issues revolve around funding and workforce related themes. The uncertainty surrounding Brexit also adds to the complications.

The ability to train and retain UK nurses remains a key issue in social care, with a 13 per cent drop in total nurse registrations.

The Government Green Paper is soon to be published and as we wait research shows that the pressures places on the healthcare system and increase age of the UK population has resulted in a need for additional staff.
