Ridouts notices increase in urgent enforcement action

Topics covered: Ridouts professional advice

Recently we have noticed an increase in CQC’s use of urgent enforcement action. Providers need to be aware that when CQC use these powers stakeholders will be expected to act quickly to remove service users if the decision is made to close the home.

Questions arise as to whether CQC really consider the vulnerable state of the residents in the home in such situations. We have seen examples whereby adequate consideration of the current residents within a home has not been considered before deciding to close the home.

If you have any queries regarding urgent enforcement action, please do not hesitate to contact us.
