Covid-19 testing for people in receipt of care at Home appears to be excluded from the Government’s action plan for adult social care. Recent estimates suggest that at least 2/5 of care provided in England and Wales is in the form of home care which leaves a significant omission within the Government’s approach to the management of Covid-19 within the home care environment.
Support is needed to help those in receipt of care at home who are often isolated and placed at a similar level of risk as their counterparts within traditional care home settings. Carer workers delivering care in the home care sector are likely to have had contact with a number of other people, some of whom may be in one of the higher risk groups of individuals more likely to contract and suffer from the disease.
