Reminder of care home visitation guidance in light of changing tiers

Topics covered: care homes, COVID-19, government, infection control, Nythan Smith

Irrespective of the Tier in which a provider is based, visits to care homes may continue.  Indoor visits are permitted for those in Tiers 1 to 3 subject to suitable precautions being in place for infection control. Indoor visits are not allowed to take place at those services in Tier 4 locations but visits are allowed outside of a service with measures such as screens, visiting pods or behind windows.

There is talk of increased measures being put in place for those areas currently in Tier 4 which are scheduled to be decided on and announced before the end of the year by the Government. Ridouts will update you if and when changes to visiting care homes guidance are announced.
