We are all devastated to have learned of the untimely passing away of our friend and colleague Viv Shepherd. Viv was a charming and positive influence on everyone whom she met.
Having trained professionally and in life as a Fleet Street journalist of the old tradition, Viv went on to work with Michael Monk on the title This Caring Business before leaving to launch the monthly sector journal Healthcare Business in the early 21st century. Personally I have known and worked closely with Viv for over 25 years and that experience has always been an absolute pleasure.
Rapidly Healthcare Business became known as THE news and comment source for absolutely everyone in the health and care sector. Viv was a towering presence professionally and socially leading from the front in all her endeavours, and, a constant source of inspiration and expertise for all of us whenever we needed support. She will be irreplaceable and leaves a legacy which will survive and thrive for a very long time.
Viv your long and painful struggle is over now; Rest in Peace. We shall all miss you so much.
